Here's a day's work on my zoo painting. I begin by transferring the finished drawing to Rives paper using graphite paper. Then I mask the edges with one inch painter's tape. Next I lay down a thin wash of burnt sienna. Happy New Year! Thought I would start 2007 off with some sketches of my three legged cat, Bacon. She's a pretty good model too. Likes to pause in position just long enough for me to get her shape down. I love the sleek lines of the feline form. Probably also why I prefer to draw female models.

So this is my messy workspace.I really need to work on my organization skills. I get everything tidy for a bit but then it all dissolves back into piles on piles of stuff. I think maybe some office cupboards from IKEA would help. Or maybe just some junk editing.
